I am so confused. icon_eek.gif

I like phpnuke and am currently running version 7.6 on my current site, But I am getting ready to start another site and am not sure which is the best most trouble free version I can start out with. Advice from you experts would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I think Nuke 7.6 Patched 3.1 is the best and most stable, that along with NukeSentinel™ is a winning combination in my book. icon_wink.gif

Well I should have listened! icon_redface.gif icon_cry.gif

I upgraded to 7.9... It has destroyed my news article by stripping all the code and graphics out of them. My right blocks are gone and the core.2334 error files are still produced daily.

Is their any way to unupgrade? and go back to 7.6

sorry to hear it went bad for you

you can downgrade to 7.6 if you had back up (mysql) before upgrade to 7.9.

Im hoping you had a back up icon_rolleyes.gif

if you have a back up ; you can upload it from phpmyadmin ( its like when you first installing nuke.sql) but if you want your files be clean (mean you dont wanna have any files from 7.9) , you can delete all files from you host and have a fresh 7.6 install and after install the back up file from phpmyadmin. If you wanna try this just make a copy of your custom files (the ones you created, added images, logo, etc.).

suggest:

-buy a nother domain for test things without mess your main site ( will cost you only 5-8 $ yearly) be also sure your hosting package supports more than 1domain)
-use same version nuke and same mods which your main site use
with this way try everything on your test domain first so when something goes wrong your main site will be up and running .Why this is also good cause if you use this way you can still come here for ask help without been so much sad cause your main site still works icon_cool.gif

There is a downgrade script...although it's for Nuke 7.8/7.7. Here's the name: PHP-Nuke Downgrader [7.8/7.7 to 7.6] and here's the link: [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

Backup before running the script though. icon_wink.gif

Thanks for your help.

I am doing a clean install of 7.6 with the patch (luckily I have more then one section to do this on our server) And I have a back up even though it is a couple of weeks old.

Am i being a dope to think I can back and transfer up my current data if I downgrade to the new install? icon_eek.gif
