"Error creating Flash Movie. There was not enough memory avaiable" icon_sad.gif

Yup.... that's the message I get when I try to publish the project I'm working on currently in Flash 6 MX.

But it must be a configuration problem cuz I just upgraded my system last fall and have tons of memory.

Azus P4P800S Motherboard
Intel 3.0 Extreme processor
1 Gig RAM
160 Gig Western Digital Hard Drive (In 3 partitions)
GeForce 5700 256Meg Video card

I have my project saved on my G drive.
It is exclusively for this project only!
The drive size is 30 Gig and only 7 Gig is used 23 Gig available

This is not a project for the web.... I'm using Flash for a business presentation of pictures, Quicktimes videos + music. I plan to take my computer with me to show the published file.
The size of my .fla file is 256 megs
I increased the size of my virtual memory from 1000mgs to 2000mgs but it didn't help

I started this project in Flash 7 MX 2004 but very early on it wouldn't publish either
So I started over in Flash 6 MX and was able to publish all along untill yesterday after I had added more video.

I have 2 weeks left before I am supposed to show this presentation and I still have about 15 - 20% more content to add.

Can anyone please help me with this?

any way u can attach the .fla file to a post? and maybe someone else can try to compile it could be an issure with your RAM, unless the .fla file is massive, have u installed any OS's over another OS on the same partition?

256mb sure is a big fla. Is it possible to split the movie into smaller chunks? If not, I'd try and get the filesize down and try again. I can only imagine that a fla of that size is using a lot of audio/video where you might be able to save on bitrate.

Thanks for your suggestions ...... I posted this question in a number of forums and found out that the problem was that I was placing Quicktime videos directly onto the timeline

I converted them to "Movie clips".... and the publishing did complete !!!!

I appreciate your help and I will come back often
