Hi there.

I am relatively new at PHPNuke and PHP in general and what I am trying to do is create a seperate content area in my site. I want to do this so that I can have a set of content that is only viewable to subscribers and is updatable/editable just like the standard content module, with categories and the like.

I was wondering if any of you knew of an existing add on that would create this or if you could give me some advice about cloning the content module into something seperate. I already figure that I would have to create new mySQL tables to hold the data, that's easy (just copying the existing nuke_pages and nuke_pages_categories) into new forms. What I don't see is what to change in the copy of content that I make so that it uses the new tables.

I am using PHPNuke 7.5 patched 2.9 and I am currently using the content section for updatable static information that everyone who visits can read.

Thanks
-D

Have a look at Nuke Royal. I think the url is [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

You can make modules for pay subscribers only and it includes a payment system. I have not tried it yet but was thinking of buying.

If you buy it, tell them that ravenphpscripts.com sent you as he participates in their webmaster referral program (I do not know if Telli does as I have never seen the ads here but you could check to see if he does first). It is nice to have someone get the referral fee if the program will be of use to you.

Cost of program is 49 P. (about $1.86 = 1 P)

You can always create a copy or the Content SQL tables and name them something else, like subcontent. Then copy the actual module and change it to subcontent, and change all the sql references. Shouldn't be that hard if you have an application that will "find and replace" all matches for you...like Frontpage.

I've created duplicate - parallel modules doing this before.

Thanks, I was thinking of trying this but wasn't sure if it would be that easy. I will give it a try and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the link, it sounds a bit overblown for what I am trying to do. My subscribers aren't paying for a subscription. The site I am webmaster for is for a LARP and the subscribers are staff members who need a seperate content section for things that players should not have access to.

It's not difficult, just time consuming. You have to have a bit of patience and make sure you convert the module perfectly or you'll notice weird stuff happening later. icon_wink.gif
