It's a script for calculating the shipping cost by weight and zone. The script works perfectly as a standalone but I'm having trouble figuring out how to add it into my PayPal shopping cart.
[ Register or login to view links on this board.]

I want to ask the user for their zip code when they get to my catalog. I'll use the zip and combine it with the product weight(which is hardcoded into the page). Then the resulting shipping cost will be plugged into the form for submission to PayPal.

I sure would appreciate some help on this.
Thanks

Did I say something wrong? icon_redface.gif
I was directed here by a friend who told me you guys could fix anything.
I know that being the noobie, you can make forum mistakes without even realizing it.
Can someone tell me how to get an answer here?
Thanks!

Welcome to CZ. icon_biggrin.gif

No, you haven't said anything wrong. Sometimes, it takes a little while for someone who can help you to see your post and reply. What you're asking requires more knowledge about Javascript than I possess. Hopefully someone will be able to help you soon.

Thanks Kelly, I was starting to get a bit paranoid,,, lol. icon_biggrin.gif

p.s. I'd much rather have someone "show me how" than to do it for me.
I'm having most of my trouble just passing variables to the js. I really want to learn javascript, it's a bit difficult at times.

This works, (the first part that computes shipping) but I want to pass the 2 variables "wt" and "zip" without using a form. I want the page to load and "just do it". Would using an OnLoad event handler be bad style in this case?

The "wt" would be hardcoded with the product, but the "zip" would be entered by the user before shopping and maybe saved to a cookie. It's like it is right now just to get it to work.

Also, how do I post the actual code without it being interpreted? I tried the buttons up there but I must be doing something wrong.

If you want to post code in the forums, use the BBcode buttons. If you're posting script, put a space in the script tags. Like this:

<s cript>blah blah<s cript>
