In the process of inheriting a website that is currently set up in nuke. 3rd visual incarnation in a year, so I don't want to change that. Anyway, it is taking some getting used to. Trying to work with the little info I have gotten and not making any major changes as I do not own this site 100% yet.

Anyway, we are experiencing some avatar woes. The site is not set up like this one in the respect that it does not allow you to upload your own avatar, nor does it limit the size of the avatar. Custom avatars must be linked from other sites. Some of the avatars are only visible to a certain portion of the group, others to another portion of the group, and some of the avatars in question are those stock avatars provided by our site. Anyone else ever encounter this? Help, ideas, would be appreciated.

I know this seems kinda silly, but this is the one area where people can customize their space, and it is important to them. I thought it might be size, but that doesn't seem to matter. I also thought it might be location of host, but then I would expect to be able to see those hosted at our site. Ya know?

Thanks!

You have a cpg-nuke version running. CPG nuke has disabled the feature to have the user upload their avatars directly. The possible reasons why your users are not seeing their avatars is either the web host they are using for their avatars do not allow remote linking or some web hosts block linking to Nuke sites much the way some of them block emails from Nuke sites.
