Own NUKE site on APACHE2 server

i have my own apache2 server set up. with php5 and mysql4 support with php my admin mod.

i created a nuke site the usual way, putting files in .htdocs n adding the sql in php my admin.. but when i create the user and login 2 admin.. whenever i click a link in admin i keep getting the login screen.. everytime.. why is this?

please help
